Area of the plot was a staggering- 56,000 sq.ft in a hilly region near Kolhapur, Mahanashtra with lush green landscapes & vegetation.
Vegetable farming has been carried extensively.
Best part was the land had red-soil which is usually iron based and can easily be used for construction purposes.

NEED
To create a farmhouse for a family. This farmhouse was also designed in a way to be used as a listed property on Airbnb.
The site enjoys endless views of the city. Need was to create the built space on the edge of the site to provide endless views creating it a perfect blend of nature & built space for social gatherings.
RESULT
It is a fun fact that the house is both an inward and outward-looking house at the same time. One of the USPs of the project would be that it connects well with the most playful element of nature – the sun through its dynamic perforated screens and courtyards that animate the spill-out spaces with playful shadows throughout the day.
The site situates itself on the outskirts of Kolhapur. Its green setting further encouraged us to plan spaces in a manner that allows connection with the outside at all times, inviting ample sunlight along with it.
The open terrace space is 1050 sq.ft which is the main feature of the house. It is created to entertain a large social gathering.
